The AIBMR Life Sciences, Inc., was founded in 1978. Since its founding AIBMR has worked with over 600 nutraceutical companies in the United States and in over 45 countries. From its modern headquarters in Puyallup, Washington, minutes from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, with access to Pacific/Asian, European and Latin American markets, AIBMR has completed a range of projects on four continents between 2003 and 2007.

AIBMR’s staff have had to meet rigorous academic and professional requirements to work in this field. All are driven by their desire to have your company benefit from their many years of experience and areas of expertise. Members of AIBMR staff have completed studies in nutrition, chemistry, biochemistry, botanical medicine, dietetics, allopathic medicine, naturopathic medicine, behavioral sciences, biostatistics & epidemiology, library and information sciences, technical editing and business administration. Many of our staff have held top management positions in industry or held ranked faculty positions at academic institutions.  

The Senior Director of AIBMR Life Sciences, Alexander G. Schauss, Ph.D., FACN, has been a member of two National Institutes for Health (NIH) advisory committees, reviewed monographs for the U.S. Pharmacopoeia (USP), represented the United States as a voting member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Study Group on Health Promotion, and for the last 15 years, chaired the safety subcommittee of the Compliance and Label Integrity Committee (ComPLI) of the Natural Products Association (NPA).

The Institute maintains an extensive database and reference library on natural products research to assist its clients and staff, headed by a full-time professional librarian and her support staff. The library contains over 12,000 books and journals, 400 periodical subscriptions and over 120,000 reference papers.

AIBMR maintains one of the largest natural products research library holdings in private hands in the world. The library collection includes tens of thousands of books, journals, and files on several thousand agents in use world-wide in nutraceutical formulations. This reference library’s holdings include works going back to 1820, published in numerous languages, including English translations of foreign publications of interest to our technical staff.

This collection, managed by a full-time librarian, contributes to AIBMR’s ability to conduct timely and cost-effective: scientific literature reviews; new dietary ingredients (NDI) notifications submissions to FDA; GRAS self-affirmation expert panel projects; National Institute’s of Health (NIH) grant submissions; formulation projects and formulation revisions; foreign regulatory compliance projects; and, preparation of manuscripts for submission for publication.
