Medical Advisor, Life Sciences Division Dr. Collins is the Medical Advisor in the Life Sciences Division of AIBMR. She is a graduate of Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor's of Science and Master's degree (M.S.) in physiology and doctorate in medicine (M.D.). Her residency was in General Surgery at Ohio State University. Her specialty in medicine is in urology. She is the recipient of the Roessler Research Award, the Graduate Alumni Research Award, the Accommodation Award of the Society of General Physiologists, and the Sigma Xi - Grants-inAid of Research Award. As Medical Advisor, Dr. Collins contributes her experience and expertise in the management of clinical trials and as a clinical investigator and research associate. Before joining AIBMR, Dr. Collins worked with numerous private research centers engaged in pharmaceutical research, toxicology and clinical investigators, and held positions as a medical writer, indexer, teaching associate, research associate, sub-investigator, clinical investigator, and physician. Over the years she has presented numerous research papers before academic societies and forums, while maintaining memberships in: the Landacre Research Society, the Society of General Physiologists, the American Urologic Society, the Bennett Research Society (Secretary and member of the Executive Committee), the Society of Women in Urology, and the Wilderness Medical Society. An avid skier and member of the National Ski Patrol, Carol enjoys the outdoors and winter sports, in addition to studying the contribution of complementary medicine to health care systems and practices. Dr. Collins is credentialed as a Regulatory Affairs Certificant (RAC). She has also been a co-investigator in over 150 human clinical trials. |
