Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Endres is the Chief Scientific Officer a Research Scientist in the Natural and Medicinal Products Division of AIBMR Life Sciences, in Puyallup, Washington. Previous to becoming the CSO of AIBMR’s Natural and Medicinal Products Division, Dr. Endres was a Research Associate, Senior Research Associate, and Director of Research Services.
Dr. Endres earned a doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and German at the State University of New York at Albany, and completed post-graduate work at the State University of New York at Cortland, and studied German at the Julius Maximilians Universität, in Würzburg, Germany.
Dr. Endres is noted for his work in the field of cell culture research conducted at the Bastyr University Research Institute. A particular area of interest has been plant parts that affect both estrogen positive and estrogen negative breast cancer cell lines. His research papers have appeared in the Journal of Investigative Medicine. He is the recipient of research grants that have given him the opportunity to do research in the United Kingdom, and discuss his research work and study the work of other investigators in such institutions as Westminister University, Middlesex University, Oxford Natural Products, and the Scottish School of Medical Herbalism. He has also presented research at various conferences including the International Scientific Conference on Complementary, Alternative and Integrative Medicine Research that was held at Harvard Medical School.
Besides being a past practicing naturopathic physician in both Colorado and Washington, and doing other clinical work at the Albany Medical Center Hospital in New York, John has also been both a teaching assistant in laboratory chemistry, and a research assistant in natural products research, with a focus on production, purification, and analytical chemistry of whole plant extracts and in vitro screening of plant extracts on cancer cell lines, at Bastyr University, considered one of the world’s leading fully accredited four-year post graduate schools of naturopathic medicine.
